Dr. Akram Khater of the History Department at North Carolina State University is the creator and director of the new film, Cedars in the Pines, which explores the history of the Lebanese American community in the state of North Carolina. The documentary is based on interviews conducted with descendants of Lebanese American immigrants and their collections of papers, photos, and other memorabilia. Dr. Akram Khater is Director of theĀ Khayrallah Program for Lebanese-American Studies is also working on a digital archive of material relating to the Lebanese immigration to North Carolina and an upcoming exhibit at the NC Museum of History in January 2014.
